Description

The Baltic Cold Plunge therapy tub, part of Leisurecraft’s Canadian Timber Collection, is ready to use upon arrival. This cold therapy barrel complements Leisurecraft saunas made with Eastern White Cedar. You can maintain the water’s temperature with the optional electric chiller unit or by adding ice as needed. The tub is constructed with a plastic HDPE liner and stainless steel bands, and can be enhanced with optional accessories, including a thermometer and pool skimmer.

Baltic Cold Plunge Tub Features

The Baltic cold plunge tub is crafted from knotty eastern white cedar for a beautiful, natural aesthetic. The stainless steel bands add structure and stability, and the HDPE plastic shell is incredibly durable with an inside step for easy access. It includes an easy-to-use floor drain with garden hose connector. For easy access in and out of your cold plunge tub, you may elect to add the optional steps in matching white cedar, cut to wrap snugly along the side of the Baltic. You may also add the optional 110V wifi controlled heater and chiller, 3-tier steps, and a cover for added insulation.

The Cold Plunge Tubs by Dundalk LeisureCraft Inc. are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship under normal/residential use for a period of five (5) years, as applicable, from the date of receipt of the product. This warranty does not apply to normal wear and tear and/or natural weather conditions. This warranty does not cover regular required maintenance of the cold plunge tub, (eg. cleaning or staining) refer to your cold tub assembly manual for maintenance guidelines. This warranty does not cover misuse or negligence and the manufacturer and associated retailers are not liable for any injury or damage caused by the product. This warranty is a parts only warranty and any service or labor costs would not be considered as part of the 5 year warranty.

By reducing the temperature of the body’s surface tissues, blood flow is decreased to the area. Decreased circulation reduces inflammation and swelling, in addition to helping with pain and soreness.

What are the benefits of using a cold plunge tub?

Potential benefits of cold water therapy include reduced muscle soreness, improved recovery time, decreased inflammation, and improved circulation. Many users also experience enhanced sleep quality as well, due to melatonin being released. In addition to the physical benefits, cold plunge tubs are also helpful in reducing stress and anxiety, and improving mental alertness.

Who is a cold plunge tub suitable for?

Cold plunge tubs are appropriate for most adults wishing to take advantage of the numerous benefits provided by cold water therapy. How long should I stay in the ice bath?

It’s always wise to consult with your doctor before starting any new therapy regimen. Generally, it is recommended to stay in a cold water immersion for 5-15 minutes.

Begin with short, safe dips of 30 seconds at a time to learn what your limits are. It's important to listen to your body, especially when you are new to cold water immersion therapy. When you begin to shiver or feel uncomfortable, it’s time to get out and slowly warm up by walking around. It’s important to listen to your body as you acclimate. You can always check the water temperature before entering, to ensure it’s at the proper temperature for your experience and desired cold exposure. Begin with a warmer water temperature and shorter durations of exposure. The temperature of the water is the default display on the control panel. Exercise due caution when lowering the temperature or extending your therapy time.

How do I maintain the water in my cold plunge tub?

Your cold plunge tub has built in ozone and filtration systems to aid in water sanitation, but you will also need a chemical sanitizer (we recommend chlorine) to ensure your water stays crystal clear and safe to use. Be sure and test your water regularly as well. Refer to your user manual for specific water maintenance instructions.

The filter should be cleaned every 1-2 weeks (depending on usage) and replaced every 3 months. We recommend replacing the water in your cold plunge tub every 8-12 weeks, depending on user levels and visible water quality. How often you change the water will depend on frequency of use and water maintenance. When the water is no longer clear, it's time to drain and refill.
